Our project work

In November we started a "Folk Tale Project" by British Council Schools online Columbia.
The goal of this project is to present a folk tale of our native place to the students from around the globe and to learn their tales.First we went to the library and took komi tales to read.

Then the students read their books at home and chose the stories they liked best of all.

In the class they told their favourite tales to their classmates.

After listening to all the stories the students chose the one which they liked most of all. They drew pictures to the story.

Tatiana's Slidely from Tatiana Visheratina on Slide.ly.

They learnt new words: a spindle and a yoke. A spindle is a device to spin fibres into thread. A yoke is a carrying pole, also called a shoulder pole. It is made of wood and used by people to carry water.

The students learnt how to make pancakes.

Class 7B helped them to retell the story in English:

After that they visited the project site and watched the tales published by other schools:

We staged our tale and published the prosess of work on the 'Progress record area' of the site.

You can see it in our e-magazine 'A boy-guzzler'.
We have published the stages of our work on "Final Publication" page .

During the last week we had to read a tale from our partners and make pictures. We chose an Irish legend about  Giant Finn MacCool by name who built a bridge across the sea - Giant's Causeway
An Irish tale on PhotoPeach

This is how we drew the pictures:
